Having just spent all day painting stables I thik I have used the wrong paint!!! Its an emulsion, which I have just realised will prob come off on my black beast when he rubs on the wall (which he does a lot!!!) So what should I have used? Guess today was a base coat!!!

emulsion is safe for inside stables. YOu should not use masonry paint inside stables - outside is OK - cannot remember why but there is a constituent of masonry/outdoor paint that isn't good for horses and they may lick the walls inside the stable.

emulsion is cheaper anyway !!

Thank goodness!! My hands nearly fell off today they were so chilly!! Have to say, black horse does occaisionally get white marks on his coat from rubbing on the wall when he is damp, he generally likes to do this just after he has been tarted up to go off on an outing!!!

I painted mine with emulsion too. Looked great. You soon get the desired poo stain effect though!!!!!!! My horse does get white on her head and a lot on her rugs but it does come off easily. Brushes off the horse and rubs off the rugs. Don't worry.
