Following on from a thread i posted a couple of weeks ago about my lorry. Those of you who replied, thankyou. I booked it in for its plate and it passed with no probs. Thank goodness i didnt sell it for peanuts. :D

Anyway, my new dilema is i am "tarting it up" and thought about painting the inside of it white. It has a wooden box and although the wood is in ex condition being wood it does make the inside darker. I am contimplating painting it white to brighten it up but wondered if:

a. This is a good idea
b. Do i need special paint as obviously it will be transporting animals or if regular wood paint will do.

??????

I used to have an old wooden trailer and we regularly used to tart it up, I painted it white inside with gloss paint so it wouldn't wash off when we pressure washed it, and did the outside a lovely navy blue gloss, with a silver roof. That trailer was almost 30 years old when I sold it and I'm sure it looked as good as it did when it was new! Go for it!

I did the inside of mine but didn't choose white as it is not a comfortable colour to be viewing on a long joourney, I've instead used a Sandstone coloour - slightly yellowish pink, or ream with a pikish tinge. It looks lovely and light inside. I've used a gloss emulsion as it is better at resisting the dirt.

Once dry I pu newspaper down on the floor and sprayed it with Pledge furniture polish. It helps to repel the poos! They wash off really easily.
