My local RC holds a xmas dressage every year and has a pairs dressage to music class. Me and my mum have always wanted to do it together and finally we have two horses that can!

We both have ISH but they are very different but actually go together quite well.

Our dress rehersal on Saturday did not go to plan - it was the first time we had a chance to ride to the music (out loud) and my mums 12 year old horse Ella freaked! My six year old didn't care. I seemed to have got my music edited ok though.

So onto Sunday. Our class wasn't until late afternoon so didn't have to rush. Got there in plenty of time, got dressed up and then went for a warm-up. Lots of scary things to see on other horses in the warm up but Enys didn't seem to care. We headed over to the enterance to the indoor school to let them listen to the music.

Before long it was our turn. We were both quite nervous but also excited as this was one of our aims when we decided to get another horse.

Into the school - neither of our horses having been in there before - they were both a little spooky but took comfort from each other.

We started our test and managed to enter at just the time we wanted to. The first half went fantasticly with only a few iffy bits, where the horses were spooking where the music came out. We seemed to be quite synchronised and even keeping to the music transitions! Our second canter was out of time, as Enys struggles to go onto canter on that leg, but I did a big circle whereas my mum did a smaller one and we ended up catching up fine.

We finished exactly when we wanted to and our grand finale went perfectly (you will have to see our video to see what we did :D).

Anyway enough rambling. Our theme and costume was 'It's Raining Again' and here's the video:

We were chuffed to bits with the horses, they went so well and we kept with the music.

Went back for the results and they counted from last to first...at second I thought they must have forgotten us, but no we had won!!!!!!! Mum and I were bouncing around.

Then there was a trophy for the overall best Artistic Impression (out of all the dressage to music classes) and we won that too! Mum and I couldn't believe it. Mum only started dressage this year and this is only about the fourth competition on my youngster - we are both mainly happy hackers.

We got 85/90 for artistic impression (they are very generous as it is only a fun comp)
Then about 68% for the dressage bit.

Anyway hope you enjoyed! We loved every minute of it :D

Aww looks great, a friend and I did one a couple of years ago to the Gay Gordons - was brilliant fun even if it did go spectacularly tits up  luckily as we were the only ones doing it we won by default! :D

Enys is looking so gorgeous and so grown up!! B is looking disgusting and fat and fluffy (he cam back from his holidays on Monday!)

Well done for winning - your outfits were amazing - v impressed!

I also had a little nosey at your website - well done with his jumping - looking very good indeed!!

Thanks everyone. I enjoyed myself so much!

Doratheexplorer - Won't be long and I will be at the same level as you (ha ha - When pigs fly!). No he is being a good boy (other than on the ground).

Hope B had a nice holiday :)

Brilliant, love it ! The umbrellas at the end - genius as most horses would of had a dippy fit ! That must of taken a lot of time planning and perfecting.

We did have to do a bit of practise. My mum did it straight away with her horse and her horse didn't care.

I took it a bit slower...luckily my horse decided it was a toy:

Unfortunately didn't get a picture of him throwing it up and down :D

Well done, i thought that was awesome, really good music choices and theme! Its something i'd love to do but am not brave enough, more happy having jumps infromt of me :D

What a lovely video! Well done!

Would love to do something similar with my daughter, but she is on a 16 hander whilst I'm on a 14 hander so I don't think they'd keep step together!

I did it once with a nutty arab and my friend on a cob...I did two circles to her every one. It was a good fun...you should do it :D

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I highly recommend giving it a go :)
