My local RC holds a xmas dressage every year and has a pairs dressage to music class. Me and my mum have always wanted to do it together and finally we have two horses that can!
We both have ISH but they are very different but actually go together quite well.
Our dress rehersal on Saturday did not go to plan - it was the first time we had a chance to ride to the music (out loud) and my mums 12 year old horse Ella freaked! My six year old didn't care. I seemed to have got my music edited ok though.
So onto Sunday. Our class wasn't until late afternoon so didn't have to rush. Got there in plenty of time, got dressed up and then went for a warm-up. Lots of scary things to see on other horses in the warm up but Enys didn't seem to care. We headed over to the enterance to the indoor school to let them listen to the music.
Before long it was our turn. We were both quite nervous but also excited as this was one of our aims when we decided to get another horse.
Into the school - neither of our horses having been in there before - they were both a little spooky but took comfort from each other.
We started our test and managed to enter at just the time we wanted to. The first half went fantasticly with only a few iffy bits, where the horses were spooking where the music came out. We seemed to be quite synchronised and even keeping to the music transitions! Our second canter was out of time, as Enys struggles to go onto canter on that leg, but I did a big circle whereas my mum did a smaller one and we ended up catching up fine.
We finished exactly when we wanted to and our grand finale went perfectly (you will have to see our video to see what we did
).
Anyway enough rambling. Our theme and costume was 'It's Raining Again' and here's the video:

We were chuffed to bits with the horses, they went so well and we kept with the music.
Went back for the results and they counted from last to first...at second I thought they must have forgotten us, but no we had won!!!!!!! Mum and I were bouncing around.
Then there was a trophy for the overall best Artistic Impression (out of all the dressage to music classes) and we won that too! Mum and I couldn't believe it. Mum only started dressage this year and this is only about the fourth competition on my youngster - we are both mainly happy hackers.
We got 85/90 for artistic impression (they are very generous as it is only a fun comp)
Then about 68% for the dressage bit.
Anyway hope you enjoyed! We loved every minute of it
