Every year I do a demo with another heavy horse and we finish it off with a pairs routine to music.
For the first couple of years we did an identical routine where we just trotted a pattern for 5 minutes, just changed the music, and then last year I started to play about with it and include some extra things in it. My biggest challenge is that the shire is only at intro level and will explode if we ask him for a bit of canter. Mine is working between Elementary and Medium so we could do some tricks but it's how do i balance that with his buddy?
Does anyone have any suggestions for what we could do to not just trot round next to each other for 5 minutes?
I wondered about a rein back from one with the facing them so it almost looks like they're pushing one another from the right angle. The turn on the forehand/circle was quite well received last year.
The arena is approx 30 x 50 so we have a bit more width than a standard arena.
This is last years video to give you an idea of what we've done before.
