It occured to me today whilst sifting through a bale of haylage trying to get rid of thisely bits that our horses really are pampered so... What do you do for your horse/pony

____ wont _____________ so I have to ____________
Or
____ has to ____________ so I ____________
or something along those lines

He gets towel dried (he loves, and goes all cat like) and I try and let him pick his own rugs and numnahs when I have time, just to see his opinion.

If Tillys in for a while, she gets frustrated so I take her for a 5 minute walk every 30 minutes to keep her sane.

Fidley has to be on my right in both ponies are led together.

My mare can't stand being covered in mud so she is brushed/bathed if she comes in covered.... Not ideal in winter when she has rolled in the biggest, filthiest puddle with mud in her ears and up her nose! If she's put to bed without being groomed, she is in a right foul mood!

Pampered diva right there... haha.

You should stay warm and let the smelly creature starve.... Oj I feel your pain, in the winter I have to go up every day even in the snow and I walk :-(

I'm sorry but how old are you both? I hope these posts were meant as tongue in cheek as this isn't "pampering" - it's basic care, something which every horse should get as standard.

I think my HHO user name says it all:D

I'm mortified if mine don't always have treats available and when I'm not around they each have someone go and look after them as I would - just so one doesn't miss out on time or attention. It has to be the person they like though - my Superstar Pony is particularly picky!

Pathetic, I admit, but I wouldn't have it any other way

Lightheartedness isn't your forte is it??

There is absolutely no need to be so rude and post a reply like that. Far too many individuals are too quick off the mark to point a finger these days and which is why i do not post very much on here. Of course it was, but if you had any common sense and didn't whop your wooden spoon out so quickly, you would have realised that!

wheres the like button - thank you. someone said something before i did! :)

I'm going to post and run with this one :D

When winter hunting with a very dirty horse that loved mud so much her tail would be plastered. I would wash it then dry it with a hair drier:eek::eek::eek:

So she didn't cold, I'd do her mane too:p

She was a pampered pony.

Lol, i did similar with my little grey pony i used to hunt, drying her off with a hair dryer :D In my defense it was in the time when the alternative was a thatched jute rug, she didnt have an extensive rug wardrobe to do the job for me :D

Broke but happy- excuse me but I understand basic horse care, it was sarcasm. I think it is safe to say I care for my horse when I walk rain or shine to the yard and actually have been going several times a day recently due to her being on box rest and jellybeanskittle was just saying that her horse dislikes being muddy and even if its cold she cares for her horses... This was a fun thread and you have brought it down a little.
Trickivicki lol at yours picking its outfits.... Very pampered :-)

If I was being rude believe me you would know about it - the written word doesn't always come across as intended hence the reason I ASKED if the posts were tongue in cheek. I know have my answer. However having dealt with people who are not that clued up on basic care, sometimes I do ask these things. It was not my intention to lower the light heartedness of this thread - I'm up for as much fun as the next person and I'm sorry if came across that way. :)

I understand where you were coming from but it was just the way you phrased it that made it come across as a little rude. However its sorted now and lets see who else pamperes their horses

The fact that I've paid £150 in the last 2 days for my horse to have a pedicure and a back massage...!! Even though my own back is messed up, but I wouldnt dream of spending money on getting THAT sorted and I certainly wouldnt pay for a pedicure for myself, waste of money! lol.

I often remove his rug just to give him a scratch on his withers, then put it back on again. He pulls some amazing faces when i get the right spot!

When I do the weekly food shop at Tesco he always has something in the trolley: swede, carrots, apples, pears, parsnips, polos sometimes all of them! Don't tell my husband!!!

The massage lady visits him every 6 weeks, but I justify that as I go to the physio 6 weekly too!

BUT he pampers me too! I was being groomed on the back of my coat as I mucked out this morning!!! He always shares his food with me, wiping it all over my top (and face if I am really lucky!)

Mine gets watered, shod & fed when necessary (obvs it has grass 24/7!).
She doesn't even have a rug on at the moment & consequently gets a bare minimum brush to avoid removing to many oils.

I better not show her this thread else she'll be wanting to move away! :P
