went to the merchant cause I had nearly run out and couldnt beleive it. The store was nearly empty. Have you experienced this where you live. Plenty of deliveries coming through here.

I'm not too far from you and I'm getting the same, I was hoping to pop in and pick some stuff up that I forgot to order but no-one has any feed. I get my feed delivered and when I called yesterday, they said they were running as normal so I'm lucky.

Have you considered getting yours delivered. I reckon my guys would delivery to you and there's no charge if you get 8 items, which includes little things like supplements and carrots.

how pathetic, not been to feed store as i have a 'gets-fat-on-fresh-air' cob

and she only has a handful of feed a night but i did go th'asda's sat and it was chocka, but it could be cause people have been stuck in and now that the roads are useable everyone was out and about!

I have to buy in bulk in winter. I currently have 400 yards of five feet of snow between me and the main road. I can completely understand this behaviour when the councils won't grit roads and you have no idea when the next snow is going to fall and stop you getting there. I have friends on housing estates who can't get their cars off the estate, so when they can get there they will buy all the sacks their car will hold.

They have also been panic buying bird food. We are talking 20kg sacks of seed and peanuts here! Mind you at least they are feeding the poor birdies.

Did notice the panic buying in the supermarket, people stocking up on essentials, you know... diet coke, crisps, biscuits.

yes i have noticed this, i go in every 2/3 weeks and buy 2/3 bags at a time but last time i bought the last 2 bags of my feed and the storage area was barren, hardly any of anything left. i know the owners were ordering in 3x over xmas as people were stocking up.

have to admit that we got a bigger order of haylage than normal in case people were panic buying that too and they ran out as i love their haylage and wouldnt want to go on to commercial bagged stuff as its so wet/acidic/sugary.

have also ordered shavings earlier than normal (although buy them in 400 at a time direct from manufacturer).
