Just picked up our two labs from kennels after a weeks holiday.
5month old pup tonight was having her tea and I noticed her foot looked odd- looked closely and her middle two toes on back foot had hyperextended so you could see her pads and the claws were pointing up towards ceiling. Quickly corrected them herself so I had a feel and both feet at back do the same.
If put the other way so toes down under foot she corrects straight away and she did correct the hyper extension too. She isn't walking/running like this- gait is normal no pain etc (she is a wimp so would know if there was)
It isn't her carpals which was all I found on google it is definitely just her phalanges which seem extra mobile!! Checked older dog and his toes don't do it!
Has anyone seen this before!? Has se just got lax puppy joints!?
I will be speaking/taking her to vet Monday- it isn't an emergency im just being over protective!!
