Going to the docs in a bit re. my shoulder - just panicking a bit as I'm moving to a DIY yard on 19th April......

Going to try and muck one of the boys out tonight but I'm really worried that if my shoulder is out of action for a while that I'm making the wrong decision.....arrgghhhh!

Do you know someone on the yard that could help you?
They muck out for you whilst you do jobs in return that you can manage?
Or They muck out for you and owe the favour for when you are better?
We all need a little help at times. It worked on a yard i was on at one time [ Well with a few!]
I do wish you the best of luck at the Doc's. Don't panic, it doesn't make things any better.
I do hope someone will help you.

It will be a completely new yard though so won't know anyone to start with....don't want to turn up on a new yard and start taking the pee straight off!

Guess I'll just have to deal with it - they'll be in the field 247 in a month or so anyway so that will lighten the burden I guess

Me again, as part of our Charity work we help people in situations which includes such as yourself. Unfortunately we can only do it locally.
Would it be possible to set up something in your area?
Get some people together to help owners in need for favours in return?
We do it for nothing as we are a charity but it could work with a favour for a favour.

It is a bit difficult being a new yard and not knowing anyone. Not a good introduction realy.
Please try to arrange something with a friend as you do not want to put your shoulder out for longer.
Massage helps!

Luckily I have a sharer and we move to the DIY yard once her uni course is finished so I think I'll say that she doesn't have to pay anything in exchange for mucking one out everyday....sure I'll cope - I think if I keep my top arm close to my body it's alot less helpful....and I guess a better position for riding!

Stop panicking wait till you've seen the doc. Then let us know what he/she says. Ask how long before you'll get full use back. Then and only then think about diy. I don't think it will be a problem. But if they say rest it rest it or you;ll make it worse.
