Hi
Vet was to Mickey for the 4th time since Christmas eve due to a strange lameness on Christmas eve (yep - super Chrissie pressie!) we have done the box rest/walk in hand - box rest/ridden walk for 30 mins - x ray / Lameness work up / and scan last night. Pants result is a tear high up in SL left hind. no core lesion or hole, but you can see on the scan that the 'texture' is not the same as the RH
good news is that vet and me are sure he was an idiot in the field and this happened, so not a chronic problem, and is only in the one leg. Hoping convalesence is not going to be too long
Bad news - shock wave treat x2 (poss 3) over the next weeks starting from tomorrow - walk 30 mins a day (with a small amount of sedation as he is not finding this funny anymore!)
I have made the usual mistake of trawling through the internet and am reading an awful lot of gloomy stories so finding it difficult at the moment to join the vet in being optimistic.... he is saying all being well and as long as he does not do airs above the ground too much in the next 3 weeks that we should be able to start trotting in 3-4 weeks
any one have any success stories to tell on PSD? Any tips on what may make sense to do extra - supplements/magnetic boots/back on track boots ? don't want to be wasting money, but would be interested if anyone had some tips.
