Paper bedding?

our day only stables are on paper bedding, as in shreded stuff. If you have a grey steer clear of news paper print. Other than that anything really.

Gives them something to read !!! LOL

gawd no I hate the stuff.

I had to use it for Bert when I first got him and it is evil

Sorry I cannot be of more use.

Have used it for years, it can be heavy to muck out but:
we collect our friends paper and paper from the local offices that is already shredded.
we have a shredder in the garage and my dad shreds about once a week. It is free and dust free and really good. If it is free then go for it.

Don't shred it too fine, especially not in huge long thin strips as it clumps together and forms balls! We have what we call "computer paper" which is really thin and really short (about 1/4 cm wide and about 1cm long) which is also horrible. The main stuff we use is about 1cm thick and about 5cm long, some bits are longer, and we find it works well (we have mats as well). The best stuff though was wide but short, much harder to get it round their legs and drag it out of the stable. It does blow about our yard a bit but it isn't too bad. I love it but then I'm used to it, I only really started mucking out straw a few years ago whereas I've been doing paper for ages!
Oh and the print has only come off onto my grey once, it was a particularly "fresh" paper (usually it's older papers that we get by the look of it) but it washed off easily.

Don't know if you can see it properly, but that's what we use.
