Parelli and Natural Horsemanship?

Why?

Well because some people prefer to play with their horses rather than ride them!!

Well, if you knew anything about equine anatomy....then you'd recognise that horses were not 'designed' to carry weight on their spines - but only evolved to carry foals hanging down beneath them.
Really we should start a new NH trend - of belly hammocks for riders to relax in. Are you game?

How would that translate for geldings or even stallions?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, if you gave the rider an AV while they're there, you could kill two birds with one stone.

You just may start a new way with horses.

There is actually some sense in their though regards not designed to carry weight on their spines. I wonder if wild horses have kissing spines etc and all the problems domesticated horses have.
I am actually genuinly interested in ailments in the pleasure hack vs the competition horse. Not injuries sustained competeing but such things as kissing spine.
I hope i have not changed the way of the thread.

Please carry on regards parelli just thinking out loud

You know, when I say ride, what I actually mean is, I hang on and flap my legs wildly whilst beating my mount copiously with a carrot club.

Because I want to achieve that mythical bond with my horse I see in Disney films and believe that as it's unnatural to ride horses, it is therefore inherently cruel.
Shoeing is also cruel and unnatural.
Stabling, rugging and feeding grain is absolutey fine though, because it shows I care. Carrot sticks are fine too.

Ho hum PF it is becoming evident that you have a "slight carrot stick fetish"

Shils glad your on form, you seem to have been quiet for a while

I used to frequently end up riding under the belly of my childhood pony but that was because his saddle used to slip.
I never knew it was more natural, LOL

because bouncing a large inflatable ball off a horse's head is a constructive way to spend 45 mins if you are too scared to ride the horse, you can also play games with a lunge whi........sorry carrot stick.....all yours for about £30... or you can get the set complete with dvd for around £100, if you can't seem to waste your money fast enough!
also i would advocate keeping you thin soled TB barefoot as the fact it is footsore means it will play up less.....
