parelli>>circus tricks or beneficial training??

If you have a search there are quite a lot of threads explaining that, as with anything, there are a lot of so-called Parelli students making a lash of things.
I just wondered what a carrot bag is? Is it one from Tesco filled with carrots?

it's so hard to say... if something works for you and your horse then that's a good thing, i personally think that although SOME of all of the whisperers methods are good, not all are and most of it is one big money making pile of the preverbial!!
i feel that parelli and the like work definitely, but so would hours of common sense ground work with any amount of direction!
i was initially impressed when i first saw monty on blue peter years ago shortly after he gave the queen a demonstration (which gave him his uk recognition) but having witnessed a live performance a few years ago i am utterly disappointed, with him and kelly marks - there was nothing gentle or natural about the way they handled those horses! (i had to keep my outspoken non-horsey OH from giving monty a piece of his mind!)
The whole audience (or witnesses would be more fitting!) went quiet as monty throttled a horse with his dually halter among other disturbing scenes.
i hear the words horse whisperer and think 'oh no not another one', and coming from me (i trained with a horse whisperer in america) that's not good! the same goes for a live parelli - disappointed, the horses looked p****d off!
yes, parelli may well be a load of circus tricks, circus is fun.. so nothing wrong with that if you both enjoy it!!
