Parelli ISN'T a real issue!!

Well said!!!! Need to get too 5000 signatures. I signed it last week when T~I~C brought it to my attention. but more threads like this will get the petition laden with support. :D
 
Watched and signed.

Was a hard few minutes and I will admit to tears at the end. This is so sick and must be stopped. Cruelty is cruelty under any name but this is particularly sickening.

Yes, completely agree, Didn't participate in the parelli thread.. But we should all club together and maybe pick something one at a time to ''''severely'''' be against and do something about it.. Like this for example.

Maybe we should all send letter to the whitehouse as JanetGeorge says and do a ''sponsored'' something in vein of this racing.
 
signed last week after mopping up. Now sent e-mail to Mr O. Im sure it wont be high on his list with all the **** thats happening around him at the mo but its a start.
 
well the members of this forum seem to be sending out VERY positive animal welfare vibes, so yup, let's use them. Seems we are quite a formidible force
 
I have signed. I forced myself to watch it as I feel I can't sign something without knowing the story. I managed to hang on til that wee bay horse was going about with it's lower leg dangling. Such dreadful cruelty. I feel so sick.
Well done JG, will post it on my facebook page and my riding club forum.

It would be great if we could make a difference with this and other causes like it.
 
Exactly, if we get focused and really put ourselves into it (with one or maybe two things at a time), I think we could really make a difference. Let's face it, this forum is now known about world wide - let's use it !
 
I have signed. This is why Parelli, Monty Roberts, etc. are so BIG - there is a completely different attitude in the USA in general, and a lot of the "kinder way" people are openly laughed and scoffed at. Rodeo with cattle and horses are on TV as entertainment.

In a way I can see how this occurred. If you had to catch a horse from the wild to break it in and make it rideable you would catch it when young and weak - hence horses in the USA are routinely broken in as 2 year olds, this is the norm. If a horse had never been handled and was nervous then to avoid injury a handler would keep it subdued, by tying it up in ropes, making it fall, etc. to literally break its spirit.

When Monty Roberts came to the UK and showed his way of breaking in, a lot of the audience was mistified, in the main horses in the UK are broken in gently and carefully.
Of course they are in the USA too, but there is still this culture of a horse being a wild and dangerous animals that has to be broken and beaten into submission.
 
That is just awfull, I couldnt watch the whole thing. How can that possibly go on, I am honestly shocked.

I am posting again on this, but does anyone buy Horsey Mags, as i do (pretty much all of them! bit sad) but they never bring things like this, to a perfect audience ... I would like to see them do a bit more (or do something) as I never really see any articles on anything to do with welfare.. Maybe I don't see them but surely it would be good to a good news article on things like this in their monthly mags, as then it would be more widely known and the petitions would be in higher volume, as would charity events and letters and just general awareness and us trying to do something about horrible practices like this.


Don't you think they should take a bit more responsibility in equine welfare??

Please note that you do not have to donate at the end, and since I didn't create the petition, I swear, but I think the donations go to the "petition' site, not the cause. I didn't even see that page when I signed the petition myself, so I didn't know it existed till I saw that someone donated. now there is a way to donate to SHARK online, the ones who have beaten bloody literally countless times when caught with hidden cameras. if anyone deserves a donation it is them. without them, we wouldn't be aware that it was THIS bad. I love the idea of flooding the white house with letters. Obama is a Mustang supporter, as one of his daughters is a horse lover, and mustang lover in particular, and he is trying to set straight a tragic "mistake" that was sneakily hidden in a "bill" a loophole added to the current protection act, by a slimy senator, that is now allowing our once protected mustangs, to be sent to slaughter for meat, at the drop of a hat. that is a much larger fish to fry as we have to fight big intrest, CATTLE men, who run this government, like the OIL men do. and trust me the fight on that one includes many thousands of activists. but this wild horse race, that has been going on for 69yrs or I'm sure longer, the injuries have been covered up, and the public was unaware of the true harm it was causing. while not fair, the cow will have little chance in this country for protection, but we are hoping that with eyes opened to unfair treatment of them too, during the awareness of the horse, that somehow, people will start to listen to us. that a rodeo is as outdated as cave drawings, we do not need to do this type of "sport" anymore. SHARK however are extreme activists, and will not listen to anyone who wants to say that not all aspects of a rodeo are bad, and thus get alot of dis-intrest due to that fact alone. they have done thier part, they have exposed this to us, they had a petition that got the prison rodeo "cancelled" but is in reality, 'just on hold" till this whole thing blows over. so now is the time to act while political minds are fresh on thier action to "cancel" the "show". I really think the "world" view on this will help too. the more off landers who sign and support, the view of our precious "america" being tainted as monsters, which we are if we let this continue, hopefully, hopefully will help them. at the very least be shown some sort of humanity and be put out of thier misery instantly, NOT hours later.

I cannot thank you enough for your support in not only signing, but those of you willing to post on other forums, and to translate in other languages.

This is typical!!! anyone who is trying to do something for horses gets cut down and then mentionned in the the same pist as a rodeo prison!!!!!!
Who ever thinks that criminals should even be allowd to interact with horses is madness especially when there is a larg quantity of people who can not afford to interact with thes animals due the there hug cost!!! And then CRIMINALS people who have comitted crimes are allowd !!!
Any body with a brain would realize that this is madness and i have not even mentionned the cruelty towards the animals in this prison!!!
