Parelli video/ catwalk

This petition has been set up to urge equine welfare charities to launch an official investigation into the Parelli demonstration at the Royal Festival of the Horse, 9-11 July 2010, and specifically Pat and Linda Parelli’s treatment of the stallion ‘Catwalk’ both during and after the demonstration.
The undersigned, reg...ardless of belief in the practice of Parelli methods, believe a full investigation into the exact occurrences at Stonleigh is necessary in order to clarify allegations of bad practice and abuse during this demonstration.

Makes me feel so sorry for Horrid Herbie to think what he went through in his last home, it doesn't surprise me he has so many issues that made him dangourous when he came to me and it makes me glad i took him on as he now has a chance to lurn to trust again and become the nice pony i know he can be.

Remarkable by his absence, is the horse actually his though?

Perhaps the horse was so bad before that the'remedy' was worth it :confused: Who knows what the horse was like at home, all we see is the what is publicly available.

Did you watch this video? it shows pat using a twich, and a 22 ft line to lift the horses leg, plus pulling the horse head around forcefully, fighting with a horse for 2 hours is definataly not natural horsemanship.

I kind of have to agree :confused: I'm sure I will be lambasted for this but whilst there is nothing in that clip that I would do, to me it doesn't actually equate to abuse. Especially in the light of real issues such as live transport to slaughter and the hideous rodeo clip posted on the other parelli thread.

I am neither pro nor anti parelli but there do seem to be an awful lot of people with an axe to grind! Perhaps it was much worse in the flesh, but on the strength of that clip I cannot really comment.

No I'm actually really pleased you did post it! From what I could make out the situation wasn't as bad as I had imagined from reading various descriptions lol.

Still don't condone it though, and VERY bad PR! :rolleyes:
