Anyone else planning to go? They have released the initial “Games Packs” sessions, but only have the dressage and cross country phases of the 3DE on offer - no show jumping phase. Seems a bit weird - has anyone managed to find the final phase, or are we going to be forced to buy a pack including some other sport and then hope we can buy single tickets for the SJ phase?

I noticed the final Eventing day was missing too, but I don’t think it’s the only sport missing the medal events (which are always the most popular).

Actual purchasing doesn’t open until they release the ballot slots early next year

Yes, perhaps they will have jumping tickets then, if not, will have to try for another sport and the try and get single tickets for the SJ. Seems like bad planning by the OC.

I couldn't find the dressage finals, only the qualifiers. It all looks very complicated to me (or maybe it's just me)?? I'm also wondering why Hobo2 said they wouldn't go.

Yes, please explain before I spend all that money!

Because WEG in Normandy wasn’t the best experience for visitors by all accounts.

However I’m not sure you can judge an Olympics on how a completely different event/champs was organised, especially when the IOC is multi-national in approach, and a lot richer.

As I say I think medal related/final days have been held back from the first ballot period. Have a feeling it was similar for London? I’ll be glad if I can get to Versailles for something!

Sorry been busy all day. I am afraid it was so badly organised it was terrible for spectators. They took all the sponsorship money and did not use it as requested on making the event what it should have been and what other countries had managed to do.
They are one of the reasons that WEG is unlikely to run in the old format ever again.
They were also not much better running some football event last year if I remember rightly .
We were booked to go to the Tokyo Olympics which for obvious reasons we did not get to. So we hope we will still have the health to go to olympics 2028 !!

I would probably go on a fully organised trip with team gb but OH would not . I would also only go if you can walk to the arena from where you are staying. But that is us you have to choose for yourselves.

It likely to be very hard to get tickets sadly and you may end up having to accept just 1 or 2 phases of the eventing. I'll be trying for whatever I can get!
I imagine it will be similar to London 2012 in that respect - very hard to get tickets! We didn't get anything in any of the ballots, and were so disappointed. But, does everyone remember that fantastic alert website, that would ring an alarm as soon as your selected tickets became available as resales on the main website? I managed to get tickets for the show jumping final that way, and the rest of my family all went to see various things using it, although I think at the Paralympics.

I was really lucky with London. I applied, in the first ballot, for tickets for the Grand Prix Special and got 2 tickets. I had imagined it would be the same for Paris, but obviously not. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see how this progresses.

The hosting nation always gets the most tickets- a tiny proportion of the equestrian tickets will be available for GB purchasers

I got to go to two days of dressage. Both medal ceremonies. One set through last minute availability not being successful after ballot which were amazing seats snd one set given / sold by friend of friend.
