Hi all,
I'm off to Olympia (for the first time!) on the sunday. I've just looked at parking and to pre-book it's £18, this seems loads!! Are there any tips on cheaper places to park? I'm going to the evening performance, but would like to get in soon after 1 for the shopping. Would much rather hang on to my £ for shopping not parking!
Thank you!

I may be wrong but I seem to remember that if you book evening parking you can not get there before a certain time as the day time people are still in there??

Last time we went we drove to just outside London, parked at a railway station & travelled in on the train. It was a lot cheaper & without the hassle of driving around London. Book your train tickets early on one of the websites & you'll get them extremely cheap.

£18??!! Last time I went 3 years ago it was £6 and had been for years! I would still pay it though, trying to find any where else around there would be a nightmare, plus you are right there so its not far to walk and they have security working so you car will be safe (well as safe as you can get in London!)

Have a great time, I wish I could go but funds wont allow so I will have to make do with watching it on TV

Its worth every peeny, it costs the same to get there by public transport and the tube home is a nightmare.

£18 - I paid £40! Watch out which car park you are in. At £18 you are likely to be in one further away which might affect your decision. Also - if you only book evening parking you can't get into the car park before 5 pm. Thats becuase the parking space will be allocated to the day performance and they are allowed to park until 5. There is no other nearby parking that I know of. All the local streets are residents permits only - unsurprsingly!

I've booked the official Olympia parking for the Weds night and it was £20. Two of us going, so £10 each, which is cheaper than our rail fare (from Kent - only an hour away) and saves the hassel of the nightmare which is the god awful rubbish tube trying to get home! Have vowed never ever to put myself through that tube journey again lol!

Do you have to pay the C charge goign to Olympia? Hasn't shown up on the AA route planner (via Battersea bridge)

ah, didn't realise you couldn't get in the parking until after the day people had left, I would like more shopping time!
No need to pay congestion charge to get to olympia (just check though if you are following a sat nav as some of them go direct route and depending on the direction you are going then this could take you through it). There is no congestion charge though over the weekend or after 18:00 and before 7am on a week day.
My other half reckons we could park in the streets around olympia, as he has done before, but I would rather avoid the stress!

I dont think you can book that parking now, last year they stopped selling it about a month or so before. They say you can just turn up and there might be a space, but ive never seen spare spaces.
It is worth the money and if you can get one still grab it, as its so convienient.
Your other best bet is to pay to park at one of the train stations near by and get a train then a tube in, as the parking is a nightmare all around that area.
