Hi all, I have a lovely newforest, proper stamp of the breed with sloping shoulders, great bone and a strong bum. She would excel in M+M classes. However, she is classed a part bred by the society (all of her sire's side is pure-bred however her dam is registered as part-bred due to having an unregistered grand-dam but a registered grand-sire). I am now unsure what classes to enter as have only ever had pure-breds, do I need to pull her mane and tail and show her as a hunter pony despite not being to type or leave her au-natural. I would do WH however due to previous injury it is out of the idea. Thank you all clever people!!:)

Well you can’t do m&m classes at anything more than the smallest of local shows.
So yes you will need to plait up and show as a hunter pony or maybe sports pony.

You can still take her to the breed show as there is a part bred class there. New Park, Brockenhurst, August Bank holiday w/e if Covid allows.
