The broken bit is the piece that goes from the underside of the noseband to the throatlatchy bit <technical>.
It's off the Le Mieux polo headcollar which was reasonably expensive and I'm not willing to throw it in the bin yet. This part broke before the frayed twine did and, looking at it, the leather appears to have thinned in that place before this happened. I've done a bodge job with the same bit removed from a tan leather one which looks awful but will do the job until I can find a proper replacement.
