Hi all, moved to a new yard this morning with the horses. Let my dogs out to run about etc and the lady who owns the yard says her current dog got Parvo last year and subsequently lost her other 2 dogs from it. She said the vet told her to wait a year before getting another dog. Are my dogs safe? They've had all their usual vaccs as puppies and boosters after that. Thanks!

I would assume if they are up to date with their vaccs, they should be fine, but would phone your vet to make double sure.

As an aside, did you ask the YO if you could loose your dogs on her yard? Just wondered if it was a veiled attempt at discouraging you bringing dogs.....?

Oh phew, was panicking! Yes of course I did, it's important for me that I can have my dogs at the yard so I asked a month ago when I put my deposit down, and then again this morning.

Ok - just weird she didn't mention it before then..

The dogs will be fine, and hope the horses settle in well.

Very weird, she wasn't even telling us to warn us.. She was on about jack Russell's because we have them and then she said she lost hers last year to Parvo, then told the story!

Thanks :)
