It is 18 degrees on my yard and I have just stood and watched the two old mares standing head to tail swishing their tails over each others faces.

What a lovely day. Just need the fields to dry up and we will all be happy.

I bought some more last week- saw the forecast and thougt ahead for once.

Used Neem oil for the first time today... smells absolutely disgusting! So hopefully it will do for flies and midges too!

I've been tentatively dabbing on small dollops of neem oil on our gelding for the past couple of weeks. Not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do with it? It does smell repulsive, but the dog really likes it and tries to lick it off my fingers when I come indoors. Any ideas on how much neem oil should be used - and how often and where? I only bought a little bottle to try it first.

Pour neem oil onto a sponge and wipe over belly and neck and mane tail head etc. if oil is hard then put bottle in hot water

I had 2 naked horses today for the first time in ages :D regretted that decision bringing 2 greys in tonight that were plastered head to toe in mud.

I got the neem out too today although mine was already dilute with added bergamot to mask the smell...does it hell! Ginger TB has chunks of hair coming out cause of a bacterial problem so tried it to see if it'll help him. He won't mind smelling of stale onion curry I'm sure if it eases his itching :D those flies sure do hatch out quickly once up warns up! Beautiful day though so I'll forgive a few flies because seeing naked horses galloping about and doing aerial acrobatics is well worth the irritation..might not think so in a few weeks I suppose.
