Pass Wide and Slow bus advert campaign

Many of you know the Pass Wide and Slow FB page. They can be a bit militant which turns people off - but their objectives are good.

They are running a crowdfunder to try and get advertising on the back of buses in 6 locations across the UK. My location isn't one of them but I still think its a good idea just to see if adverts on buses actually work for raising awareness about our safety on the roads. If they do work then hopefully some evidence for local councils and the BHS.

Anything that educates motorists on how to pass ridden horses, carriages or horses lead in hand can only benefit all our safety.

I think it’s a really good idea but your description ‘militant’ is on the kind side for me! One of their early posts regarding the campaign really put me off.

Im also not a massive fan of the way things are delivered on the fb group but I have donated. Doubt it will cover my area but I think the proposed signage is clear so could have a good impact where it is run .

I'd have maybe made the silhouettes a bit more obviously horses. I know to us it's obvious what they are, but to the non-horsey, seeing it go past on moving vehicle it doesn't register as quickly what it is.

They've blocked me. If PWAS Ireland do something similar I'll get behind it, I'm all for positive educational approaches to making the roads safer for all users.

Well maybe the BHS will do it if it proves to be successful, it is a good idea that someone has thought up by themselves, so good luck to them. Yes, I have sent them money.

I have been on the FB page for ages and I haven't noticed "militant"
they have lost horses in road accidents, no wonder they are passionate.

Donated, I don’t normally go with crowd funding but this is a good idea. I agree with the graphics of the horses not being great

This may prove to be a good idear. The BHS did a similar campaign a few years ago with notices on the Petrol and Diesal Pumps of fuelling stations. The more that is done to educate other road users the better.

I don’t think the design is 100% finalised so maybe something to feedback to the group about the graphics? I don’t personally think they’re too bad assuming the advert will be large & most people who actually read the back will be stopped/stuck behind the bus anyway not reading from afar
