Passed my HGV today!!

Well done!! Was it hard? I'm debating doing mine (even though I don't have one!) or the towing test (i have a ifor williams atm) don't know which is best cost wise for the long run!!

....or continue getting my dad to tow me everywhere :)

Hmm it's not hard as such but I've found it quite a big effort! Theory bits are easy as long as you are prepared but practical is quite challenging.. My instructor said that of the few women they get most to it to drive horse boxes and they tend to be much better drivers than they guys! ;) If you are a confident driver and not thick then it's easily do-able and quite a cool thing to have. :)

Also reversing part is easy... I bet trailer reversing is not! :P

It's something i've always wanted to do, did you find it difficult? Maybe i'll pluck up the courage and go for it. And well done to you.

Honestly I didn't find it scary at all - it's not easy but it's more remembering how you are supposed to drive r.e. mirrors, signals etc. than anything else! Gears take a bit of getting used to, they have 8 gears over a low and high box on HGV lorries (but not on 7.5 ton) and it made my arm ache a lot *pathetic woman alert!* but I found the actual size of it quite easy to get used to.

Go for it!! I feel like I've really achieved something today! :)

Well done!! N yes women make better drivers than men!! Did my class 1 8 years ago n did horse transport round Europe! Very useful to have job wise as people are always looking for lorry drivers!! Come on girls let put the boys to shame n show them we can drive better than them!!! :D:D

Yay - congrats :D:D

I remember you asking about it some time ago.....I have mine and it is a big buzz. When i first passsed I was driving home down the motorway looking at all the big trucks and thinking "i could drive that if i want" :D

Sorry bit of a silly question:o, but does it entitle you to give pretty much anything?? Big artics and all that? Up to what tonne?? And presumably everything inbetween?
Does it mean you can tow a trailer too, or is that still the silly B+E trailer test??
Oh and a cheeky question.... Was is really mega expensive to do??:o
