Such a nice feeling when they say:

"Well you will be pleased to hear you have passed".

I failed my first one! (three less than speed limit and changed lane in roundabout as it was an awkward one with the centre for going straight on in Purfleet)

So, I had a look online and saw Guildford has a higher pass rate, so I went there. Didn't think the speed limits were very clear in Purfleet!

So, I passed with *Ahem* some faults!!

But, I passed!

So- don't give up, go for it.

Key things to work on, def roundabouts and position and not going to slowly for their liking!!

So happy, I can go out and about now : )

If anyone is looking for tuition I can recommend the guy that did mine near Croydon, PM me.
 
well done . i passed mine this year to no how much of a pain it is and i failed on similar thing on roundabout but congratulations it is well worth the effort enjoy

Does anyone know the 'rules'???

What order to hitch and un hitch?
How many times are you allowed to get out and look at car position when hitching?
Are you allowed to pull forwards a few feet if you really have messed up the reversing?
Do you need a 'buzzer/beeper' when the reverse gear is selected?

They say you learn to drive once you pass you test - but trying to pass my test when I think i know how to drive is hard!!!
 
Well done you :D

I'm a lucky 'old wrinkly' who doesn't have to pass the test, but do appreciate that the test is not easy - well done for sticking at it!

As a B licence holder you can go out on the road with a B+E set up as you will have B+E provisional already on your licence and providing you have L plates fitted, the supervising driver has held a B+E licence for over 3 years (pre 1997 is ok), is over age 21 and the insurance company is happy with that.

The trailer brake is the first thing you apply when uncoupling and the last thing you release when coupling up - the rest of the procedure is best left to your B+E instructor
Getting out and checking for the couple up can be done as many times as necessary for safety but doing that lots of times will seem as though you are somewhat incapable - bet you never have to get out at all after practicing :)

Once you have set up for the reverse and started reversing you are allowed TWO forward movements at any time and must stay within the confines of the test area for your set up which is a 'box shape' bordered by the starting cones, the barrier at the back of the 'garage' and the yellow lines each side of the area
If you ever need to move forward then use ALL the area available and not as many do which is to only go a little bit forward and then find out it was not enough to make the job easy

No reversing bleeper required for B+E but many training school set ups do have them

Back to DSA basic when driving - just like when you did your first L test - but now expected to use the experience you have gained

IM SOOO EXCITED SOMEONE ELSE FAILED FOR DRIVING TOO SLOW (AS HORRIBLE AS THAT SOUNDS)

i also failed for driving too slow :( :( :(

hoping to re-take in a couple of weeks !!!!

If you are training yourself I would recommend this book, has all the measurements etc and tips http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Pass-Towing-Test-10/dp/0955581400

I trained myself using this book and only failed on the emergency stop (a couple of years ago and no longer part of the test)
