I was just wondering if anyone knows whether it is possible for a mare to pass an allergy on to any offspring, as I believe this can happen in people.
When we purchased our mare 6 years ago, we were told that she was allergic to finodyne (not sure about spelling) and I've tried to do some research into it, but found it quite hard. From what I have found out it implies its used as anti-inflammatory type drug, if I'm correct, and as I wish to have my colt gelded, I want to make sure that if there is any risk of a transfer of the allergy, he is not exposed to anything during the procedure that might harm his recovery.
Obviously I will inform the vets when they see him, and if possible will get him tested at a later stage in his development, but wondered if anyone had any experience of this issue, information on the 'drug', or advice.
Thanks
