Passport issues with "loan pony" - WWYD?

When I had Mouse moved from Dorset it was arranged that his field companion would come with him so that if I were to hack Jazz on his own then Mouse would still have Thunder for company.

However, Thunder's passport didn't come with him. The YO where Thunder was said that she'll try to get the passport from the owner (so I can transport him to shows etc) but she doesn't hold out much hope as the owner has previously said she's lost it (and subsequently given up with his vaccinations).

I have no loan agreement (at all - never spoken to owner - all arranged by YO in Dorset - all I've heard it's on a 6 month basis).

So nothing on paper and no passport.

I've had his teeth done (they were awful - not done in years), feet done (also not brilliant) and had him wormed etc.

What would you do?

Have a look on NED and see if the owner will contact the PIO to get a new passport. I would ask YO from dorset for the owners details and contact them direct. Might be less complicated if you cut out the middle man.

That's a good idea LWVTB - I'd forgotten about NED as well

You could offer to pay for a new passport if you really wanted to so at least you have one. All worth a go, however I would bet that in 10 yrs time he,s standing in your field and you havent heard from the owner for years !!

Yeah I have a funny feeling that that may happen LWVTB!! He's quite a nice little pony really but owner didn't have much to do with him even when he was on the yard in Dorset!!
