Passport markings don't match markings on horse for sale

Beats me why it's deemed unnecessary to have a colour photo of the horse posted inside the passport, we humans have to have one!

Potentially why photos would be not useful at all...

If there are 5 matching markings you are not far out. Some foals are ID at an early age and markings may change and some vets will mark black/grey which helps.

My piebald cob is passported as a skewbald, and there's no height or anything else to go by. The markings just about match, though!

Mine is a photo passport, so spot on but as mentioned earlier all dates wrong. So no matter how it's done, there will always be mistakes.

Mine is noted as a skewbald, which technically might be right, but he looks more obviously pie. His age is incorrect according to two dentists and two vets who all aged him at a year younger. His markings on his passport are quite different to his five stage but the microchip matches. Just hilarious! The dealer goes to Ireland, points put which ones he wants and brings back eleven at a time. I'm not convinced the passport is the right one!

Skew or pie?

Ive also got a horse with the wrong passport. I traced the breeder and she told me it was wrong, and sure enough when I checked in detail, my horse has his half brother's passport!

Also a few years ago I bought a horse, and as I got into my lorry, I said to old owner, "O, the passport I nearly forgot". When she gave it to me, she wasnt down as the owner etc etc. When I challenged her, she just said, "Make it all up, and forge the signature!!" I duly unloaded the horse and took my money back!
