Passport nightmare!

Hi, just wondered if there was any way of sorting out my passport mix-up!
I bought a 2 year old in March, and like a good girl, sent off my passport straight away to change ownership details. Passport came back a few weeks later and all was well and good.
Today I get a phonecall from the dealer I bought my boy from, saying there had been a mix up with the passports and I've got the wrong one! My boy was bought in a group from the sales with 2 others which were almost identical to him, and a lady who bought another of the youngsters discovered the name and microchip number did not match the passport when the vet scanned him. It turns out we need to 'swap' passports, but I've already got it in my name, with all vaccinations stamped in the back!
Just wondering if anyone knew how to sort this mess out without having to travel miles to swap over, and re-send a different passport, apy AGAIN to have details changed, and then have all vaccinations re-stamped again?
Turns out my boy isn't who i thought he is!

WOW that really is a nightmare!

I suppose it's easily sorted with a bit of paper pushing unless it's a WPCS in which case, it'll take several letters to explain, several letters, phone calls and emails to make them understand, months for them to actually do anything about it and after something getting lost a few times, you might actually end up with the right passport for the right horse and in your name. Photocopy everything before you do anything! You can always stick the photo-copy of the vaccination page in the correct passport with a covering letter from the passport issuers

Think you need to check your youngsters microchip before you do anything.
Surprised vet did not do that when you registered with practice and got him vaccinated

I agree, I'm getting him scanned to check that i'll definately be getting the right passport - as there were 3 similar looking youngsters, it might be the 3rd one whose passport goes with my horse. It didnt even occur to me to have it checked, it was the last thing i was thinking about when i had him gelded, and because my othes arent chipped it totally slipped my mind that he is. I think when I've found out what Dexters "real" name is, I'll give the passport issuer a ring, see if i can sort it fairly easily, and if not just make the journey to swap with the owner of the other youngster. Stuff like this always seems to happen to me =/
the 'I hope he isnt stolen' irrational fear is starting again, same as it always does when i'm waiting for a passport to come back. lol xx
