So I've just purchased a horse, the passport is from leisure horse Ireland and he came over from Ireland a couple of years ago. I've just sent off his passport to be updated with my details but I'm unsure if I need to get it overstamped when it comes back? Is it obvious if this has already been done? from what I can see the passport hasn't been updated with the other owners, the owners details i can see in the passport looks like his breeder and i know hes had at least 2 owners since then. I'm just not sure where I stand and although i have no showing/travelling plans etc, I want to make sure he is all correct!

If Leisure Horse is Southern Ireland, you need to get the passport overstamped by an organisation in the UK - a UK POI.
My horse's POI was the Irish Horse Register. They took my money, over stamped it and then I found it still needed to be done by a UK POI. I used the BHS as they were the cheapest. The BHS website has lots of info on the subject.

My horses passport was about 2 owners out of date too!
