Ok so my lorry was stolen in September and it had 3 passports on board, found burnt out 48 hours later so this is a genuine loss.

Armed with the URN of the theft as proof i managed to get two replaced quickly but i am still unable to get a replacement for the blue Irish passport for Harry. I know the number but they cannot issue a replacement like the other societies, i have to start again with a description etc which would be ok but we are now 4 months down the line and they STILL have not sent the form for the vet to fill in. Now this horse will never be sold (its the one that bit my ear off so i'd have him PTS rather than go elsewhere) so i'm thinking i'm not that fussed what passport he has as long as its "legal" so is there a way i can LEGALLY get a passport from somewhere else IF the original society are unwilling to help?

I'm getting desperate as his jabs are due in April and he will need his passport for travelling to shows etc

Sorry, I thought that was an HSI one, doh!

If you honestly don't mind which passport he has, check with SHBGB if they will do an ID one with his same chip number and a letter from your lovely vet that it is the same animal as the original was for; they're usually pretty helpful if you ring them and you had others done with them through that robbery which might help. You'll still need a sketch done of course.

PS - if you have the chip and passport number and the original PIO really won't issue you a replacement one then you'll need to tell them that that passport is now void too.
