passport query

i have a 4yo tb who is registered and passported with weatherbys but his name is not on his passport although his microchip number etc are, how would i fin out if he'd raced before i got him?

Just give weatherbys a ring. They are very helpful

Ring up Weatherby's with his passport number and see if they have got any details on him. A lot of Thoroughbred's are issued with passports minus names and many of them are left officially un-named until they race. If your 4 yr old has not got his name down on the passport ten it is very likely that he wouldn't have raced yet, as the name MUST be on there for him to actually be eligible to race.

I think to race they must have a name which would be on the passport. I think if they have not DNA testing then again they can not race

They have to be blood typed, cross matched, hair sent for DNA and microchipped to be issued with a passport.
They are usually named later on, and the passport is changed accordingly, and if/when they are gelded (although they arent very strict on that one if you change it on the web).
