Whats the cheapest place to get a horse passport? Most of us at my yard got them when the legislation came out but one or two did not bother, including my pal. Now we want to hire transport to go to a show and my pal did not realise she would need a passport to travel. Am i correct in saying you now need to get a vet to complete the identificaton/markings?How long does the process take? I recall when i got mine it was a few weeks but everyone was getting them then so it may be quicker now.

I didn't get the vet to do mine because he is microchipped, but I think you're supposed to. Mine was £15 I think - through Petplan and Wetherby's

Horse Pasport Agency....£18

Pet ID is only £19 and you do do not need to be a vet or passporter to complete them...as long as you have your BHS stage 3 or AI then you are allowed, so you can get you instructor to fill it out and save the cost of getting the vet out to OK the ID which he will charge a minimum of £15 for.
