Piper's never had his passort updated (had him a year, still in previous owners name

).

I'm about to send it off but he's been gelded since the passport was done and is therefore still down as a colt.

I've written a short cover note to go with it (he's also been microchipped and freezebranded so the certificates for those will be included) but I 've no evidence that he's been gelded other than a lack of balls (I suspect a graphic photo of his underside wouldn't be appropriate

)

He was gelding with his previous owner and I don't know who did it and the 'Veterinary operations' section hasn't been filled out. I could contact his owner and get them to have the their vet sign it, but that's such a faff.

So - will just saying 'he's been gelding' be enough?

What an odd chore for 2 in the morning. If it was me I would send it and if there was a problem, next time my own vet came out, (which is frequently in the case of my nag) i'd ask him to put an entry in.

I think it depends who the passport is with. Some societies have their own forms that need to be filled in by your vet to confirm. Some societies are happy for you just to let them know in a letter. I would send a letter with it and see if they accept that.
