sorry if this has been covered before, but if you loan your horse out you have to give the loanee the passport, so whats stopping them selling your horse ? Mind you, I suppose anyone could apply for a passport for a horse thats not theirs anyway?
The passports should be with the horse, so whoever is caring for the horse at the time. This means that they can have the passport for vets, traveling to shows etc.
I would have thought that you being the named owner in the passport would stop them from being able to sell on the horse, and hopefully having a trustworthy loaner!![]()
The passport should stay with the pony. We have two out on loan the new families have the passports. This is where freeze marking comes into its own, they are unlikely to sell a marked horse.
