Just a quick question, I have found an amazing horse, lovely temperament, good owners and really genuine.
Only thing me and my dad were questioning about was that the passport was in the previous owners name, just wondering whether this is alright? Current owner has competed etc using the passport so I imagine it is fine, but just checking that it is all fine and well :)

Thank you :)

Apparently a lot of people don't get round to changing the passport ownership over.
Would ring the listed owners and check all ok before buying.

^^ that ^^ could be completely genuine or could be a dealer pretending to be private and they never change ownership into their own names

I had a horse for 4 years and forgot to get the passport name changed over. I had a receipt and all for the purchase so was above board when I sold her the only problem is getting your name changed on the passport as the registered owner as you will have a sales receipt from someone that isn't reistered on the passport therefore you will need conformation from the owners on the passport that it was sold to the people you are buying from. When the new owners of my horse I sold tried to change the name this happened and they got back in touch with me thankfully I was still friends with the person I bought the horse from so got a signed letter from her and copy of my purchase receipt sent to them which was enough to have it changed to the new owner.

This person is completely genuine, definatly not a dealer x

ETA: thank you all. I might be taking my instructor to go and see him, and then maybe get him vetted :) x
