Hi everyone, hoping someone can help clarify this for me.

I’ve recently moved house and brought my six horses with me, so I’ve been updating the address details for both myself and them via the digital equine register (CED).

So far, only one passport agency has responded, they updated the address online and sent me a new address label for the passport. However, the other five agencies are asking for the passports to be sent in, along with fees ranging from £12 to £42.

I’m a bit confused, as I thought the purpose of the central database was to simplify processes like this, rather than requiring duplicate updates through each individual passport agency.

Has anyone else experienced this or can explain how it’s supposed to work? 🤔

The CED should notify the PIO who issued the passport . Sending passports in the post is very risk. Some PIO,s issue a Certificate of Ownership with the passport and the Vendor signs it and hands it to you to put your details in and send to the PIO. On the CED it becomes a confirmed entry when the PIO confirms it agrees with their details/. The passport does not confirm ownership it is a document of the horse.
