ok this is a little complicated and a little long!
got horse on loan which am now buying. When first meet with owner (has nothing to do with horse has had since yearling now 9)) said she did have papers and passport but not sure where they were and would try and find them. when got horse from previous loaner she came with a pet id passport issued 2yrs ago which has been issued in the loaners name not the owners name (unknowen to owner). when meet up with owner again they had been unable to find original passport but said if it turned up would pass on.
Now that I am buying her want to get this issue sorted. She is belived to be well bred and i may wish to bred from her in the futrure therefore i would like to try and verify her breeding and try and track her papers I do know who bred her and her sire I also think she may have been registered AES or sport horse GB.
so is her pet id passport legal? In thorey she has two passports and this one is not issued in the owners name (could this make it difficult for me to change ownership?) but its the only one i have for her. is there any way to try and find out where she was orginaly registered to get a duplicate passport?
said it would be long and a little complicated!!

It would depend if the original papers were a passport or just registration papers. If it is a passport, the pet ID one is not legal. If the original paper work are just registeration with the breed society papers then the pet ID is legal, but the breed papers should really have been overstamped and used instead of the pet ID passport being applied for. If you know what breed society she is registered with, it may be worth you approaching them for help as i'm sure it won't be the first time that papers/passports have gone AWOL.
