Passports

Watching the news this morning if you haven't got a passport already you want to apply for it before April. After that all adults who are getting their first passport will have to go for a 20 min face to face interview to prove who they are.

That would be a logistic nightmare to upkeep.

There are apparently going to be 69 centres theoughout the country and no one should have to travel more than an hour to get to one. From 2009 all renewals are going to have to be interviewed as well. Luckily my passport doesn't expire until 2016 and by then something else will be in place

Mines due 2012. How many people lose/renew their passports, gosh there are going to be some lines.


However, I think it is a good idea. Friend had his identity stolen and when he applied for a new passport they sent it to- wait for it- the guy who had stolen his identity.

Perhaps this will bring an end to some of the fraud.

Aren't they going to have microchip things in the new passports as well. Friend lost her passport and had to get new one. It has a chip thing in it.

Oh great! My dad has 2 for work, and I can jsut see he is going to be soooooooo happy about this! OH as well as he uses his all up for work.
But at least it will help in the effort to stop fraud/illegals etc
