Does anyone know if there is a boot on the market that protects the pastern & fetlock simultaneously? sort of a pastern wrap and fetlock/brushing boot combined?
those ones that are called "gaiters", not sure who makes them. stretchy, dimply looking material. they go from below the knee, all the way down to the coronet, is that the sort of thing you mean?
Do you mean a bit like turnout boots? I need them for sj & xc, hind legs only, would they do the job do you think? Or would you go for seperate fetlock & pastern wraps?
oh, i see what you mean now. there are long hind leather boots with 5 rollerbuckle straps, which go almost down to coronet, i think they're sabre. i've got a pair somewhere that need relining, proves they exist though! worth having a hunt about for, i guess. i'd go for those for xc, i wouldn't trust turnout boots to be strong enough. or, get your farrier to feather-edge the inside edges of both hind shoes, which he should do if you explain that the horse is moving too close behind and slicing itself/speedycutting. that should help a lot.
