An OK sire of racehorses but well known for getting hot temperaments.
We had a yearling by him last year and she was HOT. Completely boiled over at the sales, rearing, bucking, kicking and striking at potential purchasers!
However she was a very nick Show Hack type and seems typical of the sire to get that sort.
Presumably you are trying to breed a TB racehorse otherwise why would you be paying such a big stud fee? There are several other TB stallions to breed either competition horses or recreational stock ?
I dealt with Pasty when he was in training, even led him up for his first win as his lad was also riding in the race! Patsy himself was a lovely horse when in training, not at all hot, however all the stock I have personally handled and all of my Newmarket friends all report them to be hot little people. Talented but hot!
I dealt with him as a stallion and I can't say I care much for him or his sire 'Bones'. Bones has terrible, terrible feet! For that reason alone I wouldn't want anything with him it's bloodlines.
Pasty never had any trouble with his feet when in training and Hughie has done well and rates his youngstock. Different strokes for different folks I suppose ;-)
We have a 3yo in training by PP and he is a cracking wee thing. He is small, dainty, moves like nothing on earth, has good feet, neat little head, sensibl, works away well. Personality wise I think that I am the only person on the yard that gets him. Everyon else see's his ears back, his bum turned on you and assums that he is grumpy and nasty when in fact he is a cheeky wee toad! He is doing it for attention and if you stop and pat him he nuzzles your pockets looking for sweets. If you go in him box and scratch his bum under his tail he will love your forever. He wouldn't hurt anyone that wouldn't hurt him. He has, however, been known to lash out at people who have thoroughly deserved it.
We've got a yearling by him. She is the prettiest filly we have, (yep - show hack pretty!) and boy, when she moves she really moves! Like watching sh it flying off from a shovel!! She is good to handle, but like any young TB has her skittish moments, but wouldn't categorise her as 'HOT' - yet!!! Fingers firmly crossed for her owners that she manages to get to see a racecourse as we all think she'll do well. Just got to wait a bit longer!!
