Okay, we have our assessment tonight, I'm a little bit nervous even though I know my dog will be ideal.

I wondered if anyone else did it or knew anyone that does. Have decided to and really picked a dog with a suitable temperament on purpose because my nan was really cheered up by a PAT dog just before she died 2 years ago.

So yeah, any info or help would be lovvelyy, or just some reassurance!

I had a PAT dog years ago, but didn't really have an assessment in those days so not a lot of help.:p Annette4 had her corgi assessed and he passed, maybe pm her and see if she can give you some idea what to expect.
Good luck.

I did it with my Collie. She was really great with the oldies but the temperature in the home was quite uncomfortable for her. So I had to do lots and lots of grooming and bathing to keep her cool! Unfortunately, the home we visited wasn't the best and after a few incidents I decided to stop.

The assessment was fairly straightforward, I was a bit nervous because she wasn't a dog that was into food and as part of the test they had to take a biscuit but she seemed to know what was expected and performed well. There was also a loud bang test - the lady dropped a tray onto the floor. My noise sensitive Collie coped with that too!

I had to walk up and down, proving he stayed to heel/didn't pull, display a quick down and restrain, show how he reacted to a loud noise (she threw a plastic food bowl on the floor and he pulled me over to it  he was poked and prodded, touched all over, brushed, offered food etc.
