Patches any news ??

Thank you for asking Dingle.

Sadly we had our beloved companion PTS this morning.

It was clear he wasn't going to get better. Whilst I feel a sense of relief for his suffering, I cannot begin to describe how heartbroken I am to have lost both him and Tweenie in less than a week.

Shellshocked, devastated, bereft.

I feel as though someone "up there" is punishing me for something. WHY?

I always wanted a spaniel, right from a little girl. It took me until the age of 23 to finally find my friend. Jasper was a wonderful, wonderful dog and lived life to the full right until his first stroke on Sunday. He would have easily passed, based upon his fitness, for a dog many years younger than him.

I expected him to get a bit doddery, but I never for the life of me expected his age to catch up on him so suddenly.

RIP Jasper 16 October 1995 - 22 October 2009

Jasper used to start off lying on the bed....

....but quickly sneaked under the covers. God, I miss him so much already.

Oh Patches! I am so sorry for your losses - reading your post has just made me cry ( not something I am prone to!) Just remember that you gave both your beloved animals the best possible quality of life and try to remember the joy they brought to you. You are not being punished, despite what it feel like - the pain you are feeling now shows just how much you loved and cherished them which is an entirely good thing.

((((hugs))))

Those first two pictures are lovely Patches, he looked like a real wee character! The first one he looks like he was smiling! He soudsn to have had a wonderful life with you and a dignified ending.

Thoughts are with you xx

I'm so sorry patches, I was mistaken he wasn't a Springer. You made absolutely the right decision but of course that doesn't make his loss any easier. Big hugs x

I'm so sorry to hear your awful news Patches. I know what a dreadful void he will leave in your lives. But he looks so happy and contented in the pictures - you gave him a long, joyful and loving life with respect and dignity at the end. Try to take comfort in that as the pain eases.

I'm sorry to hear that you have lost Tweenie as well - I doubt you know which way to turn at the moment.

Thinking of you.
X
