Anyone going? I've been meaning to for the last two years, this time I'm definately going! Will go for the BSJA one on Sunday, probably just the first class as neither's been out since their break.
Was also considering it...what is involved? Know it says 'derby style fences' but how do they have water/ditches/banks etc indoors?
Not sure I can face another patchetts day though, love it there but been twice over christmas and there are always SO many people in my classes (unaffiliated 90/1m). Nearly 70 each time! Such a long day, and I always seem to be parked over the bridge
I would imagine banks won't be involved, and if there is any water it would only be in a water tray. I should think it will be mostly rustic type fences. My two boys' BSJA reg have run out, but I think it's worth paying the extra for their day tickets to jump them in the 1m on the BSJA day, and be over and done in the morning, rather than fight it out with the masses on the saturday. As long as you don't mind not jumping a 90cm round first that could be an idea for you?
they put fences in both indoor schools. they build a mixture of showjumps and rustic fences and make a corner thing with straw bales in the corner of what is normally the warmup arena.
you basically jump from one arena to the other!
it is fun.
i cant find the schedule though on patchetts website
Hmm, not sure we'd manage a 1m class without a 90cm warm up, still getting 8/12 faults most times in the 1m ones, even with a look at the fences before hand!! My prob is he is spooky little b*gger at times and whilst over 90cm I can just sit up and kick if he is backing off it, that extra 10cm seems to cause him to need to be much more accurately placed to get a decent shot at it - 'pony club kicking' not conducive to a nice shape over a fence!!
Think maybe we'll have to wait til next year, should be affiliated by then hopefully.
Good luck to anyone who goes!
