So, how did everyone do today?????????? I shall be there tomorrow to cheer from 10.30am till about 2pmish.......who will be on that time again???????!!!!!!!!!
well my music didnt work on the player they had so it was a bit of a nightmare!! i started, did my intro, came down the CL and did my halt, then i waited for it to restart...and waited....AND WAITED!!...but it never did!! tried 3 times with no luck!! eventually managed to do the test in a break in the end after some kind person managed to get it working on their system-hopefully the other days will go a bit better!! hehe!
also met Finn McCoul-who was absolutely lovely
Poor Laura T.That happened at our riding club qualifier ,one minute you could hear it the next nothing ,all the way through. Was the standard really goo din the music.Good luck for the other
OMG!!!!!! Laura T .....I would get my hubby to sing!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!! How disappointing.....normally their system is pretty good there....How did you do appart from that?? What other classes are you doing...I shall be up in morning cheering anyone I know!!!!!.........so come on..........how did every get on..............???????!!!!!!!!FinnMcCloud..........give us a little clue??????????? Sure they will not mind!!!!!
Am going on a DTM training session at beginning of March and then going to do some judging the week after, so hopefully it will become less of a mystery!! I hope.
In your honest opinion, was it entertaining or boring as far as the music was concerned???? Did it make you fall alseep or tap your toes.......if the latter what did they use.......??? I just loveeeeeee the music and want to know what people were using and if the Judges really did mark down any lyrics if they were used.......ps.......come on how did Jo C get on......she is probably not home yet and we are waiting!!!!!!!! I have to get to bed soon!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!
There were some lyrics actually! Not loads, but def some there.
Mix of dull as dishwater classical (sorry not a fan), some instrumental 80's, Tina turner etc.. a Sandro Hit mare had the entertainer (she was in the lead when i left), of course there was Jo's jungle book
The entertainer.....as in Robbie Williams??!!!!! Let me entertain you????!!!!!......I love the Jungle book......so no 1970 disco? 1950's? Rock and Roll? Foot tapping stuff?? Tut!!! Classical....yup sorry not a fan either
70%!!!!!!! Was it correct though through its test? Then again in my Honest Opinion surely dressage to music should be entertaining too.....for the audience especially, but obviously still keeping to the correct training... blah blah..!! Your training should hopefully enlighten us on this!!!!!
*runs off to change music*..................................................................................................................................................................................................
Bathed Patrick (much to his disgust) this morning then loaded and set off. There was a slightly anxious 20 minutes or so when we got stuck in a traffic jam on the M11 but fortunately it cleared as I was starting to panic. Got to Patchetts just about on schedule and met FMC and OH who had very kindly come down to cheer me on. The music class had just started so I watched one of the first people in on a lovely cob who did a very good test then had to shoot off and tack up.
Was slightly disconcerted to find that my grey pony seemed to have developed pink stripes
as the dye from the newmarket rug he had on had run
. My friend did her best attempt to hide it from me but it was very visible to me at least. The saddle cloth covered the worst bits though happily. We warmed up ok even with a slight spook when everyone clapped and cheered people finishing but on the whole ok. Then it was our turn! Slight panic yet again when they said they didn't have my music but my wonderful groom/friend sorted that for me then another panic when my review thingy couldn't be found
but quickly sorted that with the very efficient secretary and went in the arena.
Patrick then decided he had never seen mirrors, banners or audiences in the gallery in his life and he wasn't going in the corners thank you very much! (This is an ex show pony who has competed at county shows and evening performances... there wasn't an awful lot I could do about it though) The test went ok, he was very forward going but I fluffed one of the canter transitions as he was spooking at the deadly banner in the corner. He wasn't as rounded or through as I would have liked but he had caught on to that fact that mummy was very nervous and she didn't have a whip. The funniest thing is riding along the longside by the gallery and hearing people singing along to bear necessities!
Finished to a lovely clap and cheer from the audience and left the arena much relieved. RachelSkeff came and found us outside - lovely to see you again and good luck for tomorrow!
So we took the stripey pink horse back to the lorry for a well deserved haynet and met up again with FMC in the clubhouse for some well earned cheesy chips. FMC managed to cheer me up by telling me we had scored 62.something (I had estimated a 58/59% test) the scores varied hugely from 58 up to 70% so I hadn't come last which was my main aim of the day.
Thank you to all who helped out today, hopefully if I ever manage to qualify again I won't be as nervous next time. (And I won't put that rug on again to avoid the pink stripey horse look pmsl)
