Took Honey to Patchetts today for their unaffliated SJ to do the 85cm and 95cm.

After lasts time outing at BCA show where we got eliminated

i was determined to get a nice double clear.
The 75cm had just over 60 entries and by the time we go there, there was well over 50 all ready entered for the 85cm so could tell it was going to be along day!

I ended up going 61st so did not start jumping till 4.30!! But anyway she warmed up really well and we went in and jumped a really nice double clear but just out of the rossettes. Nonetheless was pleased it was nice and flowing and back to the old Honey.

Then came the 95cm where we were last to go, there were not many double clears think 4 in the end so again went for a nice steady double clear. But it was not to be. We jumped a very unattractive first round, with some iffy strides but jumped clear so straight onto the JO which started off well but then caught a pole with her hind legs. Very rare for us to have pole. Then the madam decided to stop dead at the very last minute at the last which proceeded with me going over her head AGAIN!

So took back into the warm up and jumped her over a couple of fences.

This really P***ed me off as this is 3rd time she has done this to me this summer and never used to be like this. She is now not doing any more SJ till Nov or Dec as i am back to uni in 3 weeks.

So all in all a bit of a mixed day but i did get a free fridge magnet from the photographers there as i had won the 85cm last time i was there. I do have some pics but on other computer so will post them tomorrow.
Sorry long post

Don`t you just hate it when that happens. My mare is also inconsistent. We go out one day and win 2 classes and 2 shows later, she runs out twice at the last fence, causing elimination.

It`s sooooooo maddening when you know that they have the ability to do it.

it is...she finds it effortless and mum and sister were watching and they don't know why it happened.

But she is having a break now so think it may do her good!

As my mare has been `on and off` since last year with regular visits from chiro/massager, I have decided to take a look at her saddle. It seems to fit well and it doesn`t move, but I am not a saddle fitter and so I`ve decided to have someone out to check it for me.

that is always the best option. i suppose i can't complain to much as we claimed LOU for her 4 years ago with navicular in both front feet and DJD in her right hock, so this being her first season competing since she was 5
