Well, started off bad....... decided my horse was going to wear a tail banadage if he liked it or not.

He was in a right tizz after 15 mins... had "flipped it off" and when I tried to put it on again he had his bum so tucked under I thought this may be the way forward for more impulsion from him his hind legs were soooo near his fronts!!! ummmmmm???!!! Are tail bandages allowed in tests?!!

Well, after a fraught 10 mins I decided that tailbandage was not happening as he was in a right tizz and maybe this was not the time to push the issue... load... naw... not today... you pushed me too far so "I AINT getting on that!!"... oh dear... I told my friend to forget it for 5 mins... she is very persistent but I knew it was just getting toooo much for him... she left me to it and after 5 mins and lots of deep breathes I went to load him, up he went, round with your bum matey... ok, but now I want to get off..... aggrhhhh!!! He is soooo strong... well, he almost came off backwards at one point, then luckily someone came along and put the partition across... I hate going out without my trusty groom!!! (who was out drag racing and having a great time!!) Anway, other horse on and off we went....!!!

Arrived, my friend took her horse off and Mister went crazy, I had to take him off and tack him up, no option as could not tie up... anyway, it was baking hot, and we warmed up for tooo long.......went in and did E48..... got 70.88!! Very pleased....... then had a wait of an hour and did next test....... PILOT ERROR!!! Oh dear... I was PANTS!!!

.I went left!!!!!!! TUT!!! Lost the plot completely!!! Did a flying change instead of keeping counter canter , think my leg did an Elvis move!!!!

So came out with 60.34!! Just goes to show how much a rider can cock up!!! Ok Ulla Salzberg... when you next over to give me a lesson!!!!!!!

I think we all have those senior moments! Well done on the first test though!

BTW, I keep a leadrope tied up in my lorry so I can clip it straight on to his headcollar, then he can't come off! Just unclip the one I loaded him with, and hey presto, one loaded, tied up horse...then I can deal with partitions at my leisure!
 
Novice and Elementary........ the Novice is 22 which I will be doing at the Nationals so will give me an idea of how we are going to go... and elementary is 53... of which I got 60% this weekend so should be good training ground for me!!! I have not competed at Addington and unsure if it is inside or outside??? Either way... good way to find out if Mister and I can cope with a bigger atmosphere etc!!!! He was a rather a loon at Solihull!!! Plus my hubby will not be with me to help... so if you are free to lend a hand??!!!! I will do likewise if I can after!!!!!

When you go places alone a lot, you learn these tricks! Just keep their head facing the front until you clip it on then by the time they go to remove themselves, it is too late!
 
Jo C I think going left instead of right is worse... with a caller too!!!

No the space hopper race is saved for the AF's at Patchetts at the end of Sept. I think you are going too so you will be able to watch us being stupid!

I used to put my whip in the hand of whichever way I had to turn otherwise I would have a memory block going down the centre line.
 
I try to learn my tests and go over and over them but if I do more than more I amalgamate them together!!! I hope I can manage on Saturday as I believe you cannot have a caller!!!! Should be a laugh to see how many times they can toot the horn!!!
 
We must have seen you then as we were there yesterday! OH took Blitz and did the two novices.
Didn't realise you would be there otherwise I would have been on the lookout!

We had an OK day first time out for Blitz since June as we were concentrating on Diva and he got a bit left out. He left the arena twice in Novice 22 and got 66.4% and then did a really nice, if slightly flat and tired Novice 38 and came joint 2nd with 65.5%
Bless baby Blitx he didn't understand the whiteboards he just tried to keep going till he hit the fence. Just goes to show what happens when you only compete in exact size arenas!

His face and OH's was a picture he was the wrong side of R and I was calling at E - he ground to a halt and then looked at me as if to say: "Er can you move it?" Had to repair the boards on the way out

What a shame Worried1, were you there Sund or Monday though?? I was there Sunday?? Dont remember seeing your OH?? I think I can kinda spot him, as there are not many men riding!!! LOL!!! Poor Blitz!!! Whiteboards are fun !! Especially when you are doing a really good test then the wind decides to move them too!! Well done for those scores though if he left the arena twice!!! It was very hot though for them, and for us!!!
 
CYSMolly I will be doing Training/HC at Elem. until Nov now as it is only fair as I have qualified for Winters Regionals. I cannot do Medium yet as we are not ready and I do not want to push him to much to soon.. dont want him to break and I am quite happy doing Train/HC as I need the ring craft experience etc.. without the pressure!!!
 
Yeah I am going to be there on the 9th so will see you then. I am doing the two elementaries, bit scared as I have only done one before and do feel a bit out of my league. Didn't realise you had already qualified for winters, wow that is fantastic, idea is to try qualify myself but due to lack of funds I haven't been out much and not sure we are capable but going to give it a shot and who knows it might happen!
 
Yup I know what you mean about pennies... anyone who wants to sponsor me feel free!!! LOL!!!! I shall not actually be going to compete that weekend as I did look at my bank account today and "the computer said nooooooooooooo!!!" I will probably come up and watch and give you a cheer!!! I am quite sure you will cope fine!!! Just remember your tests!! (unlike me!!!)tehe!!! Dont be scared either....you will be fine and dandy and Patchetts is such a lovely place too!!!
