Hi, please can anyone advise me on the course of action that I should take with the following. My yearling Fell colt came in this evening with a funny action on his oofside rear leg. The leg seemed to be sticking and then was okay. Having watched him it seems to be in the patella rather than stifle, should I box rest or turn out, should I give him any special vitamins. The vets are all out on call so cannot ask them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

try not to worry, they grow out of it.
my shetland had this when he was young and has gone on to have a very busy life and still going strong at 25.

they are best not stabled and kept out where they can move about.

Thank you Cahill, I was beginning to really panic, it seems that everything is going wrong, we are just getting over our 35 year old mare having peritonitus and my 22 yr old arb x having front foot problems, so thank you so much, I was really frightened when I saw him walking like that.
