Toby is needing shoes on

, now we're starting fittenting work in earnest, plus he's going to be flag horse for the common rides (yey

) and take part in most of them this summer (i.e miles and mile of hard road work). Annoying, as he stunningly beautiful feet, but they just can't keep up with the amount of work he's now doing and I can't get any boots to fit

He is NOT good with his feet. He had a disaster with a farrier a whole ago and since then I've been doing them, but obviously I can't shoe him. With lots of practise he's now happy to hold them up long enough for shoeing, so he should be fine with someone patient and quiet.

Reccomendations please!

ruaridh robbs really patient he shod taz for two years and when i first got him going near his feet was asking you to get either shoved against a wall or trampled he's really patient with them he spent two hours putting front shoes on taz everytime then done the backs a week later lol my poor pony haha

Darren Muir good farrier from over shotts way.

has been doing Kia for years and he now does my friends whole livery yard as a recommendation.

Ruaridh is a fantastic farrier, so is Ian who used to work with him but can't remember his second name.

Thanks for the suggestions! The dame weather's conspiring against me doing any work with his Lordship at present, but I will be again once this horrible white stuff goes away.

I've used ruaridh before and he's great but he is so restrictive in the days he will do certain areas. He's prob be my first choice but I'd need a day off work........

A friend reccomened Ian Marshall (he's not ruiaridh's now fledged apprentice - that's Ian someone-or-other-else) so I'll try and get ahold of him - apparently he's really hard to get ahold of!

Never heard of Sean Broadfoot! He must be fairly new?

what about Scott Rose, he is fab and very patient, has a good way with the horses. Are you still in EC or in edin now? I know Scott is in Edin on a thurs so might not suit, not sure if he other days there too. Geoff Elphick is a lovely patient guy too, can get you his number.
