is who Watchdog are reporting about

Yep, taped it so I can watch it after Corrie. I have one of his horses to thank for my broken leg, although mostly my fault for not being able to cling on better though!

And this person didn't even to go see her horse - dear LORD, are they ALL numpties?!

I'm afraid I do have limited sympathy for some of these people

Ok so he may of lied about how safe/sound the horses were but surely some common sense, or at least going to ride/see the horse and getting your own vet to see them, then they wouldn't be in this mess.

A very bad rep'...not far from me but to be honest anyone who went there expecting a sound, sensible starigtforward horse or sale was rather deluded.

completely agree but does that absolve him of any/all responsibility? should he just be allowed to trade however badly he wants to?

Oh dear - now I know there are some dodgy dealers out there but how stupid were those people?! No vetting.. didnt even look at the horse... and they wonder why they got ripped off!

How do 'Watchdog' manage to find these idiots. One a Livery Yard Owner...who can't tell that a horse is chronically lame? & the other woman with '20 years of experience' who bought a horse sight unseen..... I bet Anderson couldn't believe his luck!

And in the H&H report it says that the customer said how can he say no to his teenager (aged 12??) when she said I want 'that horse'! Your'e the grown-up for goodness sake!!!!

Probably because the rest are embarrassed by being taken for a mug, and don't want to be on tv! Yes the buyers were naive, but this guy is a lying, sly conman! And its just crazy that the buyers are being blamed in this

And no, I've not bought a horse from him lol

good job noone on the HHO forums have ever made a mistake in their purchases eh!

Damn! Missed it- would have liked to have seen that. I very nearly went to look at a horse he had end of last year but (luckily!) found my lad before I phoned them up. I have a couple of friends who bought from him. One returned the horse within the seven days required and is still waiting for her refund (this was in May) and the other exchanged her horse for another that he had. there was a difference in price in his (PA's) favour. Her new mare has issues but she's working through them.
Have to admit that I was dubious about his horses already having been vetted- ie he was trying to sell them on that vetting alone, plus some on his website did seem under weight and a bit sorry.

It doesn't. That's the worst bit I suppose- those who suffer will be the ones without enough sense to suss the place out/ deal with the consequences.

When buying a horse you have to ask various questions as we all appreciate that there are uncruplious sellers out there, Anderson being one. Hey, but come on, considering the two people appearing in the programme were a livery yard owner & someone with '20 years' experience, they appeared to be the most stupid & naive people. Buying unseen? Anderson is a sly conman....but OMG what a pair of idiots appeared on the programme.

What if these so called ' numpties ' were new to horses and expected the same sort of trading morals/ standards as in other industries. Its only really horse people that know to beware. If we went to a garage and bought a duff car we wouldn't necessarily blame ourselves, hindsight is a wonderful thing. All rogue traders should be dealt with and 'buyer beware' is not a good enough ethos
even many experienced people have been duped.

The woman who bought the horse unseen - she said she had "20 years experience" yet she gets bucked off gently and then loses ALL her confidence... Usually takes a little more than that if you've been riding THAT long?!

But agree, they were a bit stupid buying a horse unseen and un-vetted from a dealer!
