Did anyone see him beatin the floor as soon as he got off? Not good for the sport in my opinion, plently of other riders who have been just as disapointed and not shown themselves up!

He was running on adrenaline....I wouldnt give him too hard a time. Imagine making a silly mistake like that and it costing you a prize at Badders! I think you might be a bit peed off too....

Cant expect them to think of the TV cameras all the time; they're sportsmen, not actors! And at least he wasnt hitting the horse

Give the guy a break, he gave the horse a great ride and had an unlucky stop. He had every right to be upset. I'm sure the grass will forgive him!!!!

He didn't show himself up. He felt he has just blown his chances of Olympic selection, I could imagine that might feel a little frustrating??

He didn't take it out on his horse, he thought he was out of view from spectators and the TV, I really cant see the problem

as you clearly dont know either of these people i would keep it shut if i were you and look at my answer to this post on latest news.

He actually calmy got off the horse, sorted the girth or stirrup or whatever and then only when away from the horse vented his frustration - you could say he was quite collected mostly. He's only human.

Doesn't show the sport in a bad light at all IMO.

Unfortunately this is an open forum and I am entitled to my opinion and am entitled to voice it based on my limited experiences. Obviously not everyone using the forum will agree with each other

ETS - actually, on 2nd thoughts, you MAY not have been directing this at me, it may have been meant for the original poster? If so, I apologise!

Hee hee, it made me giggle actually - plenty of times I reckon we've all felt the same. He didn't take it out on the horse, reckon he was more angry at himself - mind you maybe not as mad as Mary King may be! hee hee, ah don't we just love the sport of horses. They do all the big, tricky fences and then do that 2nd from home. Been there done that, what else can you do but smile eh! They're all braver than me, I found it hard watching some, just thought "brake brake!" Sharp intakes of breath were made a lot (and I just watched on TV!)

disagree, no bad sportmanship, blamed himself, took it out on himself, end of. Unless you had the same at stake I dont think you are in a position to judge him!

I found it funny too. I think he was angry with himself for letting the horse down. Silly stop really. At least he didnt take it out on anyone else unless of course his whip and the ground have feelings.

Ditto - I was just giggling at it - he obviously didn't realise the camera was on him and will probably never be let forget it.

I've always thought every workplace should be equipped with foam baseball bats and a padded room for those sort of moments we all have.
