paving stones

Hi, have just posted recently to see if I could find a suitable surface to walk my horse on, someone recommended rubber mulch which looks quite good but I'm just looking into all the options at the moment. Just wondered if anyone walks their horses on paving stones and if so are they OK? I've heard they can be slippy for horses but don't know if this is just a certain type and if so whether there are any that are suitable. I think paving may be the best option but don't want to spend a fortune to then find its slippy for my horses. One of them has shoes on and the other doesn't. Thanksx

I have some that were put down for my donkeys to walk over, however, my OH has to walk his horse over them sometimes too. His horse is shod and he does tend to slip on them when wet.

Thanks for your reply, probably won't use those then! May get a quote on tarmac and see what that will cost!x
